What type of cases do you generally handle?:
Construction defect litigation, mostly representing contractors or subcontractors involved in commercial or multi-family residential projects (40%); Insurance Coverage – representing insurers and/or policyholders (50%); mediator and/or arbitrator (10%)
Who is your typical client?:
Insurance company or third party administrator for insurer and their insureds in the construction arena, but I also represent policyholders in disputes with their insurers (not in the same cases – obviously). When mediating, my client is the settlement.
What is your approach or philosophy to winning or representing a case?:
Give the client an honest assessment of the case; don’t over-promise results; be a zealous advocate of your client\’s cause, but be ethical and professional in doing so. You will see the lawyers on the other side again and again.
What is one misconception that you feel people may have about your firm?:
That we only do insurance defense work. In fact, we have lawyers that represent plaintiffs, and we also represent policyholders, so we work both sides successfully.
